This April, New Zealand energy services contractor Electrix begins operations under its new name, Omexom. Founded in New Zealand in 1955, Electrix established itself as a leading provider of engineering, construction, and maintenance services to asset owners in the electricity and gas utility, industrial, commercial, resources, and infrastructure sectors.

Located in a rural village of only 600 inhabitants, the Noordschote high-voltage substation is an important node in its area as it supplies the entire Westhoek region with electricity. To prepare for higher electricity demands in the future, Omexom in Belgium is modernising the installation, making it more sustainable.

In Sines, a mere 2-hour drive from Lisbon, Omexom Renewables Portugal has completed construction of the Morgavel solar plant. The 100-hectare solar farm features tracker systems whose installation requires a high level of accuracy. An artificial intelligence (AI) tool, AI Clearing, helped ensure precision, quality control, and progress reporting on this innovative and complex project, executed for RWE.

VINCI Energies acquired two multi-technical companies providing global solutions for electrical and telecommunication network operators in October 2022, and is accelerating their integration with two rebrandings: TLT-Building and TLT-Connection activities in transmission and distribution join Omexom in Finland, while TLT-Connection telecommunication business becomes Axians.

The only international airport in the Algarve region, Faro welcomes about 9 million passengers yearly.
