Our Approach for Environmental Transition: Climate, Circular Economy, and Biodiversity

Omexom is the VINCI Energies brand dedicated to energy infrastructure.

In line with VINCI’s and VINCI Energies’ ambition to accelerate the environmental transition, Omexom places the environment at the heart of its strategy, addressing the challenges of the climate emergency through sustainable and resilient solutions.

VINCI Energies’ environmental commitment is structured around three key focus areas, which Omexom actively supports and deploys across all its activities through three levers of action:

  • Reduction of CO₂ emissions, energy efficiency, resilience of structures. Our commitment is to reduce by 40% direct greenhouse gas emissions (scope 1 and 2) by 2030 compared to 2018 and by 20% its Scope 3 compared to 2019.

  • Sorting and recovering waste, recycled materials. We are developing solutions to limit the use of virgin raw materials as much as possible and to facilitate materials reuse and recycling.

  • Biodiversity, water, air, soil. We strive to minimize effects on biodiversity, develop solutions to preserve water resources, and protect green areas throughout the life cycle of our projects.

Environmental Actions & Initiatives

Actions are adapted to each project’s scope and context, with a focus on reducing emissions, optimizing resources, and limiting alterations to biodiversity.

Our business units are demonstrating their creativity and innovation by designing environmental initiatives that suit their clients’ needs, enabling them to align with VINCI’s Environmental priorities.

Eco-design & Carbon Footprint

By performing full-scope Life Cycle Assessments on complex projects, we identify the main environmental impact drivers and compare technical, operational, design or organizational alternatives across the entire life cycle, supporting informed and balanced decision-making. 

Eco2VE is our internal carbon assessment tool. It estimates the carbon impact of our projects throughout their entire life cycle and helps us develop and offer low-carbon alternatives to our customers.

How we take action to preserve Natural Environments

Amongst other initiatives, we are deploying a biodiversity roadmap aligned with Act4Nature International and applying in-house tools to integrate biodiversity into worksites and infrastructure. Our approach is supported by best-practice resources like Terrabella, the French biodiversity engagement framework, and LPO France.
