Présentation :
When Karpe welcomed approximately 35,000 people per day to Ekebergsletta for Karpe World, audiences experienced an unforgettable live production, immersive environments, and seamless event operations. Yet an event of this magnitude depends on far more than what happens on stage. Behind the scenes, critical infrastructure was working around the clock to keep everything running seamlessly.
Engineering the Invisible Backbone of a Major Event
Delivering reliable power to an event this large requires more than just connecting a few generators. It needs a well-designed temporary energy network that can support all aspects of the experience, including stages, backstage operations, hospitality areas, vendor facilities, VIP zones, crew compounds, and visitor services, without any interruptions. In a live event, even a brief power outage can impact production, safety, visitor comfort, and business operations. The challenge was to ensure stability despite constantly changing loads and tough operating conditions over three full days, with no room for error.
A Tailored Temporary Power Solution
Omexom designed and installed a temporary power system across the entire Karpe World site. This setup included an 11 kV high-voltage system, substations, transformers, and a wide network of cables. Dedicated technical teams were on site to monitor and manage operations in real time.
This is where Omexom’s expertise as a temporary power contractor comes to the fore: combining high-voltage engineering, temporary distribution networks, and 24/7 operational readiness into a single, precisely sized solution, no oversizing, no risk. It’s the same approach we bring to construction sites, industrial shutdowns, data centres, and emergency response situations across 36 countries.

From Karpe World to Tons of Rock
The result was a resilient power solution that remained stable throughout the event, whatever the load. Organisers, artists, suppliers, and 35,000 daily visitors were free to focus entirely on the experience, with the energy infrastructure working invisibly in the background, exactly as it should.
Karpe World is a strong example of Omexom’s capabilities, but it is far from a one-off. Across Norway and internationally, Omexom specialises in mission-critical temporary power for environments where reliability is non-negotiable.
At Tons of Rock 2026, Omexom provided the festival’s entire temporary power supply. This included a dedicated 11 kV grid connection, several substations, a temporary high-voltage and distribution network, and power management systems designed to support continuous operations during peak demand. The project also featured our AMF++ (Automatic Mains Failure++) solution. This intelligent system manages the connection between grid power and backup generation. It quickly brings extra capacity online when there are failures or load peaks. The outcome was uninterrupted power for stage production, sound, lighting, and event operations, while optimizing the use of available grid capacity.
Temporary Power for Critical Environments
Together, these projects show how temporary power has evolved well beyond traditional generator-based event services. Today’s most complex events, industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, and critical sites need intelligent, flexible, and highly resilient energy systems.
As one of the most capable temporary power supply companies globally, Omexom brings engineering, installation, operation, monitoring, and emergency response together to deliver complete solutions, from a few kVA to several tens of MVA, wherever uninterrupted energy is essential.
