Can you briefly introduce yourself in a few words?

I have a background as a metalworking technician. Until last year, I worked for Kässbohrer Transporttechnik GmbH in Austria.

My main tasks included the repair and maintenance of truck bodies as well as troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.

More recently, I worked for Geislinger GmbH. There I was responsible for the repair and inspection of shock absorbers and clutches of large engines in the factory on site.

After these rewarding experiences, I was looking for a new challenge and found it at Omexom: I am very happy that I dared to take this step, it’s a great job!

What made you decide to become an overhead line fitter?

I really wanted to take on a new challenge and this one seemed exciting! I am very happy to be part of the Omexom family now.

Is it a special challenge to be the first woman assembler in the construction of the high-voltage overhead line at Omexom in Germany?

Not really, despite the specificity of my job, which can be described as “a man’s job”, I was very well received, and I feel very comfortable among my colleagues! There are no prejudices against me and I am treated like everyone else!

What do you like most about your job and at Omexom?

Many things! What I like most is working on the mast, climbing, and above all being at height! I like to have this feeling of being above the world!

One of the criteria that is also very important to me is the team cohesion we have: I realise that it’s a chance to be able to talk to everyone without feeling embarrassed. The working atmosphere is great and even though this job is very special and I am aware that not everyone could do it.

Moreover, by working at Omexom, I am really aware of acting for the energy transition: feeling useful for future generations is what drives me.

Lastly, feeling that I belong to a global network in which all the business units in the world have the same ambition – achieving the energy transition – makes me very proud to be part of it!
