On February 2, Omexom in Norway welcomed close to 300 new colleagues with a rebranding event spread in the locations of Kristiansand, Lyngdal, Evje and Møre.

In 2023, Otera AS was acquired by VINCI Energies, a global leader in the energy sector with 90,000 employees operating in 57 countries worldwide. With this name change, Otera strengthens its integration and affiliation with Omexom, the VINCI Energies brand dedicated to energy infrastructure.

With 275 employees in eleven locations nationwide and € 70-million annual revenue, Otera Infra is a leader in energy infrastructure services in Norway. Established in 1901, the business is one of the oldest electricity companies in the world. Recognized for its know-how in high and low voltage electrical works, it is particularly involved in the design, installation, and maintenance of the electricity grids.

“For us, this is a great opportunity to really show and feel connected to the group, to the global VINCI Energies.”

Business Area Director

For the Otera Infra’s staff, a company that has seen several changes of ownership and branding in the past, joining Omexom means switching to a universe that is made to last, explained Philippe Guérin, Country Manager for VINCI Energies in Norway.

Philippe expressed his satisfaction for the rebranding event and the preparations leading up to it, which he felt were a testimony of genuine curiosity and openness from the team. During the day, the brand image is omnipresent, with Omexom vehicles in the parking lot, posters, and decorations celebrating everywhere the brand. A particular highlight: going on stage to speak to an audience entirely dressed in t-shirts showing off the new logo.

“I noticed a true participation, and an effort that came from within the team, and that’s really a strong and positive sign” Philippe said.

“There was a great atmosphere at the event; people asked a lot of questions and demonstrated a lot of curiosity about their future.”

“I can see that it will bring more opportunities to work in different parts of Norway, or even in other countries.”

Kenneth PEDERSEN

Fitter and Team Leader in Kristiansand

Business Area Director Aslak Andersen has been with Otera for seven years prior to rebranding. Actively involved in the Omexom network since the company joined VINCI Energies, he is looking forward to more exchanges in the future:

“For us, this is a great opportunity to really show and feel connected to the group, to the global VINCI Energies,” Aslak said.

“The culture, the strength of the company, the history is something that we want to bring on because we are really proud of who we are,” he said. “Merging that into an international setting will benefit everyone.”

At the event in Kristiansand, the sentiment was echoed from the Otera staff turned Omexom:

“When I heard that we are going to become Omexom, I was excited,” said Kenneth Pedersen, Fitter and Team Leader at the business unit of Kristiansand.

“We have always seen our colleagues who were already Omexom, and I think it’s really cool to now be part of that.” Kenneth, who has been working with Otera for seven years, said.

“I can see that it will bring more opportunities to work in different parts of Norway, or even in other countries.”

In addition to local management and staff, Pole Managing Director Dominique Ferreira and members of the Omexom Brand team joined the celebrations.

“It was an honour to meet and share this milestone moment with our colleagues from across Norway,” said Markus Popp, Omexom Brand Director.

“We are excited to welcome the Otera teams to our global network and see our existing contacts and conversations with Omexom Norway amplified by this symbolic step.”

The Omexom network in Norway now comprises 20 business units, at 14 locations, and 600 employees. It is positioned across all five business lines. With this step, Omexom will strengthen and expand its offer and expertise in Norway and continue to contribute to Norway’s energy transition.
