Omexom in New Zealand has been awarded a multifaceted Streetlight Maintenance and Renewals Contract for the Northern area by Auckland Transport. This new contract covers maintenance, renewals, and capital projects.

Booth & Associates, part of the Omexom network in the USA, has achieved a major milestone in its renewable energy efforts with the successful energization of the Gillespie-B1.9 project, a 1.9 MW distribution-generated solar initiative located in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Omexom Cameroon, in close partnership with the Urban Community of Yaoundé (CUY), officially launched a pilot renewable energy project to modernize the city’s public lighting system. This ambitious initiative marks a major step forward in Cameroon’s energy transition, combining solar power, smart grid technology, and energy storage to enhance sustainability and urban resilience.

SF₆, a widely used greenhouse gas in electrical switchgears at substations, is under scrutiny due to its exceptionally high global warming potential (GWP), more than 24,300 to 25,200 times (*IPCC AR6 data) that of CO₂.

On February 2, Omexom in Norway welcomed close to 300 new colleagues with a rebranding event spread in the locations of Kristiansand, Lyngdal, Evje and Møre.

The Omexom business unit in Sundsvall has secured three new contracts with a total order amount of €70 million. Building on long-standing partnerships with clients Svenska kraftnät and Sundsvall Elnät AB, the projects include the reconstruction and new construction of Odensala which is the largest air-insulated switchgear in Sweden so far.

‘Groundbreaking’ takes on a new meaning at an underground distribution site for Omexom in Sweden:  the business unit and its project partners have inherently redesigned the project to adopt a comprehensive environmental approach.

Eitech in collaboration with Omexom has won the assignment to deliver and install the entire power distribution in an extensive infrastructure project in Finland. The large and complex project will begin in 2023 and will last for almost two years with completion scheduled by spring of 2025.

This April, New Zealand energy services contractor Electrix begins operations under its new name, Omexom. Founded in New Zealand in 1955, Electrix established itself as a leading provider of engineering, construction, and maintenance services to asset owners in the electricity and gas utility, industrial, commercial, resources, and infrastructure sectors.

Located in a rural village of only 600 inhabitants, the Noordschote high-voltage substation is an important node in its area as it supplies the entire Westhoek region with electricity. To prepare for higher electricity demands in the future, Omexom in Belgium is modernising the installation, making it more sustainable.
