Présentation :

Offshore wind farms operate in some of the most challenging environments in the energy sector. To ensure the safe, uninterrupted functioning of electrical systems and offshore substations throughout various wind farms in the Dutch North Sea, requires deep technical expertise, cross-border coordination, and a partner who understands each facility inside out.

For Eneco, overseeing six offshore wind farms and enhancing portfolio management necessitated the identification of a sole, dependable partner capable of providing consistent performance on a large scale.

Omexom and Eneco: Five More Years Offshore

Following a successful partnership since 2021, Omexom has secured a new five-year contract with Eneco to operate and maintain electrical systems across six offshore wind farms in the Dutch North Sea, running from 2026 to 2031.

The new contract is broader and larger in scale than previous one. In addition to continuing its responsibilities for electrical systems and owner equipment in offshore substations, Omexom will now take on full maintenance of the substations at the Prinses Amalia and Luchterduinen wind farms. Eneco bundled the tender for all six wind farms, a strategy that streamlines management across the portfolio and enhances operational efficiency for all asset owners.

The project will be executed collaboratively by two Omexom divisions: Omexom Renewables Offshore based in Oldenburg, Germany, and Omexom Offshore Benelux in Assen, Netherlands. By leveraging local expertise and offshore experience, this cross-border collaboration will ensure reliable performance in challenging marine conditions.

A Renewal Grounded in Proven Expertise

The new contract guarantees the steady, long-term operation of six wind farms that support Dutch and European renewable energy goals. For Eneco, this means ongoing collaboration with a partner who has a successful history managing these specific assets and their operational needs.

  • With Omexom, we are continuing our collaboration with a partner who has demonstrated comprehensive offshore expertise, high reliability, and a deep understanding of our facilities. This helps us to operate our offshore substations safely and efficiently and to further strengthen offshore wind power generation.

For the Omexom teams on both sides of the border, the contract reflects the performance delivered over the previous contract period.

  • This renewed trust confirms our offshore competence and the performance of our teams in Germany and the Benelux countries. Together, we ensure the reliable operation of the substations, contributing to the safe integration of offshore wind energy into the energy system.

Strengthening Omexom’s North Sea Footprint

Offshore wind is central to Europe’s energy transition and maintaining that infrastructure is equally important. As the industry shifts toward long-term Operations and Maintenance partnerships, deep asset knowledge, cross-border capabilities, and portfolio-level coordination become more crucial differentiators.

Through this agreement, Omexom reinforces its position as a trusted partner in complex offshore electrical infrastructure across the North Sea by expanding its footprint in the Netherlands and Belgium.
