Nuclear

Local & international nuclear power player

Nuclear energy is the world’s second largest source of low-carbon power. It provides approximately 11% of the world’s electricity  from around  450 operable reactors (source: World Nuclear Association- World Nuclear Performance Report 2019). The world’s nuclear plants continue to perform excellently. Growth is strong, with more than 20 new reactors scheduled to be connected before the end of 2020. The need for the reliable, predictable and clean electricity generated by nuclear has never been greater and, worldwide, that is reflected in the growing number of new build programmes underway. Omexom has a international network of more than 1000 experts in the nuclear sector. We have also French expertise in non-destructive testing and asset management. Dutch and German Omexom teams collaborate on Gemini Wind Park in the Netherlands

The Gemini Wind Park is one of largest offshore wind parks in Europe. Located in the North Sea, 85 km off the coast of the Netherlands, it became operational in 2017. With a rated capacity of 600 megawatts, Gemini generates renewable electricity for 1.5 million people while reducing CO₂ emissions by 1.25 million tons per year. Built between 2014 and 2017, the wind park will provide clean energy for decades to come. To make sure that Gemini performs at its best, operations and maintenance are a key part of the project.
