Eneco Renews Offshore O&M Contract with Omexom for Six Wind Farms
Offshore wind farms operate in some of the most challenging environments in the energy sector. To ensure the safe, uninterrupted functioning of electrical systems and offshore substations throughout various wind farms in the Dutch North Sea, requires deep technical expertise, cross-border coordination, and a partner who understands each facility inside out.
Omexom Delivers SF6-Free Medium-Voltage Infrastructure for the Geldern Wind Farm
Connecting a wind farm to the grid is a complex engineering undertaking. It requires precise design, compliance with strict grid connection regulations, and infrastructure built to operate reliably for decades. But for the Geldern wind farm project, the challenge went further than technical performance.
Omexom improves wind farm operations through predictive maintenance
Omexom Renewable Energies Offshore, pioneer in the offshore wind industry, has joined forces with VINCI’s innovation platform Leonard, to develop a data-driven artificial intelligence solution to detect generator failures before they occur.
Omexom in Germany uses airborne wind turbines to generate energy
The use of altitude wind energy through airborne wind turbines enables more and better controllable energy to be generated from wind. Alongside EnBW, SkySails Group and Leibniz Universität Hannover, Omexom is involved in developing this innovation into an everyday companion and making a valuable contribution to the climate-friendly energy system of the future.

Dutch and German Omexom teams collaborate on Gemini Wind Park in the Netherlands
The Gemini Wind Park is one of largest offshore wind parks in Europe. Located in the North Sea, 85 km off the coast of the Netherlands, it became operational in 2017.
With a rated capacity of 600 megawatts, Gemini generates renewable electricity for 1.5 million people while reducing CO₂ emissions by 1.25 million tons per year.
Built between 2014 and 2017, the wind park will provide clean energy for decades to come. To make sure that Gemini performs at its best, operations and maintenance are a key part of the project.

Pioneers of offshore wind energy from the North Sea coast
A year ago, on June 30th 2020, the project “Trianel Windpark Borkum 2” (TWB 2) was successfully delivered. This ambitious wind farm located in the North Sea required 3 years of project development and 2 years of construction time. The 32 rotors operating nowadays generate an output of 200 megawatts which supplies 130.000 households with renewable energy.
TWB 2 is the result of Omexom absolute passion for the offshore renewables sector.
The installation work for the first turbine started in July 2019.
By mid of 2020 all 32 turbines have been handed over to the operations department.
VINCI Energies acquires EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH
Through the Omexom brand, VINCI Energies acquires EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH, a company specialised in project development and in the operation and maintenance of offshore installations.
Omexom connects renewable energy to the power grid in northern Sweden
Omexom continues to contribute to the energy transition that is now taking place in Sweden. A good example is the new assignment to build a complete substation when Holmen – Swedish forest company – invested in a new wind farm located approximately 4 km west of Skellefteå.
