First in Europe: the battery replacement station
Europe's first battery replacement station is built! In the municipality of Lier in Norway, near Oslo, the first electric car battery replacement station has been built. On behalf of the electric car manufacturer NIO, Omexom teams in Norway have designed, supplied the electrical infrastructure and then set up the battery replacement station itself.

Omexom in Sweden is awarded a contract to operate and maintain the substations supplying the Stockholm metro
Omexom in Sweden was awarded a new contract by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik - the public transport authority for the Stockholm region - to operate and maintain the high-voltage substations that supply the Stockholm metro and the cities of Tvärbanan, Nockebybanan, Lidingöbanan, Saltsjöbanan, Roslagsbanan and Spårväg. With this new assignment, Omexom continues to ensure the power supply to SL's rail traffic.

The Netherlands' largest offshore wind farm is currently under construction off the coast of Zeeland. A total of 173 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts of green energy will be installed in the region.

Pioneers of offshore wind energy from the North Sea coast
A year ago, on June 30th 2020, the project “Trianel Windpark Borkum 2” (TWB 2) was successfully delivered. This ambitious wind farm located in the North Sea required 3 years of project development and 2 years of construction time. The 32 rotors operating nowadays generate an output of 200 megawatts which supplies 130.000 households with renewable energy. TWB 2 is the result of Omexom absolute passion for the offshore renewables sector. The installation work for the first turbine started in July 2019. By mid of 2020 all 32 turbines have been handed over to the operations department.

Omexom will build the world’s first 400kV Green Gas for Grid (G3) substation
In Scotland, Omexom has been awarded the contract by SSEN Transmission to build the world's first 400kV green gas substation (G3) at Kintore. The project is part of the client's plans to upgrade its network in the east of Scotland from 275kV to 400kV and to facilitate increased renewable energy generation in the region.
